Instagramable Day Trips from Miami

Whether a local or a visitor, here are my favorite places to take friends visiting Miami, Florida! 
1) Morikami Japanese Gardens (Del Ray Beach, FL) is about an hour drive from Miami Beach and is a beautiful and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Admission is $15 and well worth the price as you may roam around the gardens for half a day soaking in the pristine backdrops, learning about the Japanese culture in Florida, and getting some incredible shots (I'd bring your DSLRs for this one)! Start the day at the restaurant for some sushi and refreshments and bring sunscreen, bug spray and water.

2. Kayak with the manatees at Virginia Key (Virginia Key, Miami Beach) just a short 20 minute picturesque drive to the key and rent kayaks at the Virginia Key Outdoor Center. Everytime we've gone, we've seen manatees! Pack a picnic and kayak to the beach to watch for dolphins, not to mention the incredible shots you will get with Miami as your background!

3. Key Biscayne Lighthouse (Key Biscayne, FL) about a 30 minute drive from Miami Beach, this beach is a bit crowded but fun to walk around and learn the history of Cape Florida along the way.
